Our Exclusive Interview with Ms. Andrea Millar

How did you get started in the fitness industry?
My boyfriend took me to see a show Oct 2005 in London. It was a lot of fun and I thought that I could do it. So I did. Got started right away in my basement Nov. 2005. Entered my first show April 2006 and came in 2nd.

Well...... I was hooked from there. I did 3 more shows that spring. In November 2006 I received my IDFA Pro Card by winning 1st overall in Open Figure.
I placed 1st Figure Short in the Brantford OPA show later that month.

WOW! What a first year!

What do you feel is your biggest accomplishment?
I would have to say my biggest accomplishment thus far would be winning my Pro Card with the IDFA in my first year competing.

Is fitness modeling/ competition your full-time job?
No. But I did leave an accounting job of 20 years for a fitness consultant position at Extreme Fitness in Pickering Decmber 2006. I now feel fulfilled working in an industry that I am passionate about and believe in. I also have a home based training business. www.andreasbodysolutions.com

What are your long-term goals?
I have two goals. Actually, make that three.

To make a difference.

Continued personal improvement.

Peace in my life.

What supplements do you use?
What don't I use?! LOL

Um....protein, creatine, glutamine, B, C, and a multi

Couldn't live without the protein and glutamine.

"

How do you motivate yourself to stay in shape?
The training isn't so hard. Give me a pair of dumbbells and I'm happy. The dieting is the hard part for me. I'm a cheater. Especially when my boyfriend, John is away. Out of sheer boredom and loneliness.

When I start to see the body fat coming down though that helps. And when others, especially women, comment. It makes me feel proud of my efforts.

What tips would you give to someone who wanted to get into the fitness modeling (or fitness competition).
GO FOR IT!
